January 14th @  9:45AM in Clark’s Cabin:  “Publishing a Book” Noel Zinn

Publish your memoir (or any other kind of book)

Betty has guided us through a process for writing a memoir.  Some memoirs are family private, but some have general interest worthy of publication.  Publication isn't limited to memoirs, however.  How about a layperson's explication of your latest patent?  Or a retired physician's recommendations for the health care system?  Self publication is the HOV lane for getting a book into print and available for "distribution" (that is, "purchase").  Last year (2023) Noel published a bird photography book ("Texas Egrets in Flight") and a travel photography book ("Asian Travels: 1967-75") using KDP (Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing), one of several self publishing methods.  KDP is free and its distribution channel is enormous.  Noel will guide us through the KDP process ... but you have to write the book!  Hint: Photography books are easy.

Adult Discussion Group will be meeting in person @ 9:45AM in Thoreau’s Clark Cabin except on the third Sunday of each month when we will meet in the Sanctuary @ 11AM.

Masks are now optional. The AC and HEPA filter will be running to keep Clark Cabin & the Sanctuary as safe as possible.

For those that prefer: We will provide ZOOM via the OWL system when we meet in the cabin & our Moderator Tamara will recognize your hand up and add you to the queue.

Thoreauvians and friends will be notified each week (tuucannounce@groups.io) of our ADG topic, time and zoom login.
