Carbon Capture, Use and Storage (CCUS) by Betty Johnson
CCUS is a portfolio of technologies for the capture, utilization, and geologic storage of carbon that can play a critical role in the bridge to net-zero. There is growing interest in CCUS as a way to mitigate carbon emissions and address anthropomorphic climate change. A critical piece of this is long-term geologic storage of carbon, with recently enacted federal policy instruments providing economic support in the U.S. We'll discuss the current state and future plans for carbon storage, specifically in the Gulf coast, as well as the challenges of a maturing carbon market. Is a circular economy for carbon possible?
