Dec. 17: (Third Sunday Talkback - 11AM in sanctuary.): Jan Poscovsky on Communication - Jan Poscovsky has been a member of Toastmasters since 1993 and served as the 2010-2011 District Governor (CEO) for the greater Houston area’s then, 180 club, 3000 plus member territory of the Toastmasters International organization. She has earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation three times - the highest designation awarded by the Toastmasters organization.

Jan recently retired from a 47-year career in real estate and is an active certified Texas Master Naturalist volunteer. She is also a Fort Bend County Master Gardener.

Jan feels that communication is the key to solving many of today’s problems as it enables us to better understand what is at stake and allows us to make better decisions. Today she will be sharing her presentation entitled the “Keys to Competent Communication.”

Jan has taught communications skills to pre-med students at the UTMB  (University of Texas Medical Branch) sponsored JAMP summer program for 13 years.  JAMP is an undergraduate pipeline program created by the Texas Legislature closing the gaps between participation and success for economically disadvantaged Texans pursuing their dreams of becoming a doctor.  Talk is basically about communication skills -- especially doctor-patient.

On one Sunday a month, our Adult Discussion Group coordinates the speaker for our weekly gathering.

During ADG Sunday Service, Religious Education is offered for children 5 and over, and a nursery is available.
